By scoring your practice programs you will get a realistic idea of where you stand before going to competition. It gives you an opportunity to fix spins, move jumps around and strategize to achieve your personal best.

Celebrate Growth

Scoring practice programs allows you to see growth during practice. It allows you to see what you are capable of and be able to believe in yourself as you walk into competition. It gives you a realistic idea of where you stand.

Maximize Your Potential

For any competition using IJS, this will help you understand how many points you are capable of achieving. We can help understand how to improve your grade of execution and work your program so that you are achieving your best.

Hey Coach!

What happens if...? How many points is...? What should I do when...? Quiz your skaters or brush up on your IJS knowledge here!

You will lose 20% off of the base value in addition to a GOE deduction of -3 to -4

Start with working on the first three bullet points: acceleration, clear and controlled positions, and making it effortless.
No, after a weight transfer any jumps after will receive no value.  In addition to that it now becomes a jump sequence and only receives 80% of the base value.
Yes! 8 revolutions is a feature if done in difficult variations, camel spins or laybacks.
A +3 means that you just got 30% added to the base value of your score.  Your single axel is worth 1.10, but with the +3 it is now worth 1.43!
Go into a back scratch spin.  You won't get the level for the Y spin, but that way you will still have an upright position and can still get some points.
Very important!  A level 4 change foot combination spin is worth 3.50 points, your double lutz is only worth 2.10 points.
No, the fall on the entrance still counts as an attempted jump and will occupy a jump box.
Single lutz + single loop is worth 1.10.  Single flip+single toeloop is worth 0.90.  If you can do the lutz loop nice - go for it!
Almost always grade of execution!  Focus on quality!
Yes! The last three jump elements are multiplied by a factor of 1.1.

If I hold my camel spin 8 times around will that count as a level?

Sure Will!

8 revolutions is a feature if done in difficult variations, camel spins or laybacks.

Hey Coach!

If I step out of my jump and then do a double toe, will it count?

Nope!

After a weight transfer any jumps after will receive no value.  In addition to that it now becomes a jump sequence and only receives 80% of the base value.

Hey Coach!

What does a +3 on my single axel mean?

Woohoo!

A +3 means that you just got 30% added to the base value of your score.  Your single axel is worth 1.10, but with the +3 it is now worth 1.43!

Hey Coach!

If my combo spin slows down and I can't hold my "Y" position, what should I do?

Think Quick!

Go into a back scratch spin.  You won't get the level for the Y spin, but that way you will still have an upright position and can still get some points.

Hey Coach!

Should I do a single lutz single loop or single flip single toeloop for my combination?

Loop!
